Overview

Tom Roberts, an ex-officer of the Tank Corps, has become a drifter. He finds work, however, at the Stoddard Machinery Co., after rescuing Alice Stoddard at a train crossing, and becomes reacquainted with Ptomaine, formerly a cook in Tom's regiment.
